CASS Teachers from Central America living Holy Week and Spring Break in San Antonio.

I imagine that our families and friends back home in our countries and even peopele from this countrymay be asking themselves."How are the CASS teachers spending Holy week and Spring Break?" Here is an answer to the question... about the wey we pauist thes days.

The coordinator of the CASS and some other facilators planned a great way for us to spend this time. They decided to take us to Austin with the idea that we could learn about local culture.customs history and also just have a good time.Everyone was supposed to learn and understad these things, not with the idea of changing our culture and customs but rather to hare nex experiences that would strengthen our own ideas.

We visited many tourist sites during the day such as Enchated Rock,The Bemberger Ranch, the Lindon B.Johnson State Park and Historic site and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

The Lyndon family did important things that make us more conscious of our need to love and respect God's creation.Lead Bird created a wildflower center.wich helps peopel understand that we need to love and take care of our planet.

I also undersand that presidente Johnson did many great things. One of the most important things, the one that make my feel so thankful and excited, was that he made sure that the civil rights Act was passed by congress, which made it possible for colored people to have the same rights as white people.

The example he set in his life and with his family is examplary one that many pople should follow and improve and now that in life nothing is impossible.

How was Holy Week?

The Revilla family and our coordinetor Julia reminded us how special we are in God's eyes.We sent a great day eating, getting to knowing each other, enjoing a spiritual afternoon by singing religious songs. They were so kind to us and we really understood that they meant four us to feel like part of the family. My colleagues and I really feel that we have their support at all times.

In the evening we presented dramas, played games, and manyother things.

Many thank are due to the CASS Pogram,Georgetown, our coordinator Julia, our facilitators Mr.Revilla,Laura,Linda,Dr.Herbet and everyone else that makes our empowerment possbile.

I promise that this experience will not end up being just for me I will take it home with me to my country,to the children that I teach,to my colleagues and my family. Thanks to every one at CASS for making my dream come true.
